Smalt didn’t start as a software company – it started as a trade shop of our own. We founded it, scaled it and made every mistake ourselves – then built the platform we wish we’d had at the start.

Three phases, one thread: build it ourselves first, scale it with our own technology, then open the system to others.
Founded as an electrical shop for PV and electrical installations, initially using standard third-party tools. In parallel, the in-house Smalt Academy launches, training and up-skilling roofers and electricians.

The company is growing to over 50 employees and four locations (Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Hanover). We are replacing third-party providers with our own worker app, back-office portal, and customer dashboard.


What works in our own shop becomes a platform for others: we open the Smalt Backoffice+ & Growth platform to partner shops – as GTM and back-office infrastructure for European trades.


15+ signed partners in the first year, many already in the six-figure range.
